Yang Xu-Czaja, piano soloist and chamber music pianist.

 

As a soloist, Yang performed Johannes Brahms First Piano Concerto with Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra in June 2015. Being a passionate chamber music player, she has been taking part in master classes, music festivals and concerts in Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and China. Performing in Lepos Duo with cellist Jan Czaja, they received 1st prize in chamber music category at the International Competition “Premio Citta di Padova” in June 2017. The duo recorded for radio and TV, as well as premiered forgotten “Threnodies” op.20 by Feliks Nowowiejski.

Yang studied with Pavel Dobrovolsky at the Xing Hai Conservatory Junior Academy in Guangzhou, China from 2004 till 2009. Later she moved to Poland to pursue bachelor and master degrees at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan with professors Alicja Kledzik and Piotr Zukowski, she graduated with highest marks and honorable mention in 2015. After that, Yang has been continuing her studies as a postgraduate student and she was granted an artistic internship. From September 2017 Yang has been studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London with professors Amandine Savary and Colin Stone, she received Nancy Dickinson Award and graduated with distinction and in 2019. Her chamber music tutors throughout her studies include professors Marcin Sikorski and Ian Brown. From October 2019, Yang has been working at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan.
